Dental Materials guide
A very high yield subject for Paper B. I relied on my 2nd Year notes, First Aid for NBDE and lectures by my professors.
Some questions are straightforward facts e.g composition and their amount, and some questions are tricky e.g they would link Prosthodontics to Impression materials and ask which material fits best. Or they would link metals to orthodontics and ask about wires used.
Almost everything is equally important with the most focus on Lab procedures, materials used and their effects. Porcelain was heavily asked in my paper, for which i was not prepared at all.
Composites and restorations in general are also frequently asked, combining clinical aspects of operative dentistry and how to treat a decayed tooth.
I have tried to make more detailed notes on Porcelain, however if you can find other sources covering this in more depth, do take a look at it. The same goes for Composites.

Volumetric polymerization shrinkage = 21%. 6–7% volumetric shrinkage after using the 3:1 mixture, and ~0.5% linear shrinkage.

Ceramics
Conventional feldspathic dental porcelain is a glass-based ceramic containing a glass-forming phase, crystalline components and small quantities of additives.
