Community Dentistry

Paper BUpdated 2 min read

Community Dentistry is heavily tested. The problem is, they are changing the content of what is being asked. Initially, how I prepared was to simply go through of my 2nd Year content e.g indices, study designs, biostats, fluoride, ART etc.

However! The exam was very different. Most of the MCQs being asked seemed common sense? Questions asked were about theories, models and what order of action was in them. Some asked clinicals and dental clinic scenarios e.g my friend and I are opening a clinic and what prerequisites are need, what qualities are needed.

Unfortunately they also asked random irrelevant facts like when was DMFT introduced and who founded it, or other indices and their founders. I have made some notes on these important dates, maybe they will help.

Since I had not studied for anything of this sort, i once again went with my Gut and common sense to what would fit best because 2 or more options always seemed correct, but only one fits best.
Keeping this in mind, i have highlighted and made notes regarding these topics with the help of ChatGPT. You dont necessarily need to learn everything by heart, but give it a good read.

I have highlighted topics in yellow which i think were in the exam or have the potential to be asked in the future. Do remember the yellow highlighted ones. And lastly, the rest of the topics are important as well. e.g biostats, study designs etc are commonly asked in every paper.

Most of the numerical information I have added is based off researches and online database from ChatGPT. They may be different elsewhere but these values were correctly marked in majority of past paper MCQs i attempted, so i relied on these for myself. If you have more credible sources to remember the values, stick to that.
